Hotels Use Interactive Kiosks To Speed Up Check In.

Originally digital signage was set up to present information and not to receive it, some digital signage applications use screens to engage with the visitor, so they can interactive together.

Using this technology, allows guests to check in without even seeing anyone at the check in desk, studies have proven that the use of interactive kiosks have reduced check in times to both kiosk and non kiosk users, by reducing the load on the front desk staff. Hyatt hotels have these installed and the front desk staff point you to them for local attractions and information.

One of the first industries to use this technology is the airlines, when you visit any major airport, you will encounter interactive check in of baggage and ticket issuing. These certainly speeds up check in and reduce waiting lines by 60%, this was experienced in Newark Airport NJ by ourselves over the Holiday period in 2008, having queued for over 2 hours in the UK for an outbound flight (not using interactive kiosks), compared to 34 minutes for the return trip from Newark.

This is known in the industry as CUSS, whether in the form of an interactive kiosk or digital sign, CUSS applications allows travellers to print boarding passes from terminals in hotel lobbies, saving them time when they get to the airport.
