Travel Agency Boosts Sales with In-door Digital Signage

How they learned the easy way to simultaneously enhance its image and pocketbook using dynamic digital signage.

A market leader in the travel agency segment, wanted to implement an innovative strategic marketing plan that would allow them to enjoy a short-term profit increase, which is not a hallmark of most similar initiatives. However, a digital signage and retail media company, was able to give them just that.

When companies, like a multi million dollar Travel Company, with more than 200 agent offices throughout the United States, decide to invest in marketing, they usually take the investment in their stride — understanding that the money they spend to enhance their image will likely improve customer experience and loyalty, but won’t do much to improve short-term profit margins, or the proverbial “bottom line.”

The aims of dynamic advertising are:

• Make in-store environments more customer friendly.
• Empower the travel agents’ communications staff to remotely create and develop customized, timely messages at targeted stores.
• Find a solution that allowed the travel representatives retail locations to manoeuvre in-store screens to a “night position,” allowing displays to face outward, near windows, at dusk.

• Raise new advertising revenue from their travel suppliers.

Previously they had done a lot of printed signage, but it’s not as sexy. Travel is a romantic, sexy commodity, and they needed something that better conveyed the message, as the first phase was rolled out. Also they were looking at having a flat (box-lit) image versus a moving image. Actually, there is no comparison.

The agency wanted to change the way it displayed, conveyed and delivered its message – a message that itself was evolving and changing.
