What types of Businesses Benefit from the Use of Digital signage?

If you have been hearing a lot about digital signage in the media these days you are not alone. But what kinds of businesses benefit from these systems and how do they use them? The plain fact is that almost any business can reap the benefits of digital signage in some way or another. Here are just a few examples of digital dynamic signage in action:

Restaurants
Traditional signs can be expensive and impractical for many restaurants as the menus and pricings are constantly changing. In the past that usually meant having a member, or members of staff spend a great deal of time very day writing up blackboards or paper signs that were less than visually appealing. Electronic billboards allows restaurants to create a dynamic and constantly updated menu, list of prices, and special offerings. Being able to add moving visual images is certainly a bonus, even if the diner is already in the restaurant. Displaying appetizing images of special alcoholic beverages and desserts, extras to a basic meal can really help drive sales up.

Medical Practices
If you have visited your doctor recently you may have seen the kind of digital signage that is now being commonly featured in the waiting rooms of medical practices all over the country. Digital advertising is revolutionizing the way doctors and patients interact, and how medical practitioners can covey far more medical information to their patients than the can in the 10-15 minutes the average face to face office visit runs.

These digital signage systems are being used to convey information about healthy eating, common ailments, such as colds and flu, and the best ways to treat them. There are some doctors offices who are interspersing biographies of their staff with short but engaging videos on all manner of health related programming.

These systems are also of a great deal of help to the office staff. They can be used to display practice policies in insurance, copayments and hours of operation, saving the poor receptionist from having to repeat herself hundreds of times every day.

Colleges & Universities
The majority of learning institutions have so many different events scheduled it can be hard to effectively convey information about all of them to the entire student body. To make matters worse many of the events are subject to change at very little notice, a rained out soccer game for instance.

Sports Clubs & Fitness Facilities
Health clubs and gyms are also making good use of digital signage technology to help promote extra services once a member is through the doors. A member may never have considered paying the extra cost for a personal training session, but if it is being advertised and demonstrated right in front of them on a TV while they are on the treadmill they may very well consider doing so.
