Using Digital Signage Correctly in Hotels – Part 1.

With the ever increase of digital signage, more and more businesses are using this medium to get their marketing message across along with guest information.

For any digital signage deployment to work effectively, the following points must be addressed.

Content needs will vary across the Company.
In all but the simplest digital signage deployments, multiple screen sizes and orientation will be used, so the content will be different for a 42” display in landscape than it would be for a 32” in portrait position. The more screens that are in a network the more they need to be organised.

Multiple Digital Signage Networks.
When multiple digital signage networks are used, they have a tenancy to overlap. In retail for example, the digital signage network may be designed to communicate with the Point Of Sale (POS) network, to see how effective the promotional campaign is against actual sales. However, getting two different networks to communicate is a IT challenge.

Who is responsible?
Digital signage seems to be an IT project, but then again it is used for marketing, so who is responsible? Well a well organised digital signage network has equal input from both parties and this makes for a success project.
