Self serve kiosks and the issues to avoid.
Self serve kiosks need to be reliable, if a kiosk is inoperable, this will impact on the restaurants operation. When you go into a restaurant there is grease, dust and more room for the contamination of the actual device.
In the Walt Disney Resort, one of the restaurants needed to create a functional food attraction for Captain Cooks restaurant where guests could quickly enter food orders for the kitchens to that the time the customer reaches the cashier their order is ready to take, this alleviates long lines.
The solution was to create a simple menu, easy to use and leveraging it’s three dimension animations – a certain mouse – to engage each customer with another park attraction.
Guests enjoy using and interacting with the kiosks as they feel it is an extension of the company branding.
