When you are thinking about a digital signage solution for your business, you need your supplier to think of everything, so that once it is installed and configured, it runs maintenance free.
One area to look at is the cables that connect the digital signage hardware, are there are some cheap and nasty cables out there and these could effect your displayed images or promotion.
When choosing the ideal cables to connect the LCD display and the media player, or even the video splitters, try to go for the gold plated connectors, these are always more expensive, however they will not corrode like the nickle plated cables and the the gold plated connectors offers a clearer picture. The improved images are due to the conductivity properties of gold.
Image if you had installed a passenger information terminal at a ferry port, that was secured in an LCD enclosure, protecting the digital signage hardware inside from the salt water and any other hostile environment, including vandalism and you had to return to site due to the poor image quality, the costs incurred would certainly out weigh the initial costs of purchasing AV cables that had gold connectors.
