Digital Signage is used as a piece of Art.

One of the tallest buildings in Philadelphia is the Comcast Centre standing 975 feet tall, this glass skyscraper dominates the Philly skyline, but the real beauty is inside the building.

Recently, the Comcast Centre deployed over 1100 digital displays, one in each of its 50 lobbies and 28 elevators as well as other high traffic areas. The idea was create a “one of a kind” experience for both staff and visitors alike.

This system is used to promote the corporate message to everyone, so that everyone including visitors are kept informed of breaking news within the company. Keeping people informed is the key to this project, from how the business is giving back to the community, what specials are on the lunchtime menu to train schedules, all this is displayed, throughout the building.

The digital signage experience begins as soon as you walk into any of the lobbies; you are greeted with a 42” plasma television used as a sign, informing staff of events that are being held in the building, this is a greener option to printing memos and leaving them on peoples desks.

The elevator signs also inform staff and visitors with up to the minute weather, breaking news and sport. Then later in early afternoon, the local area traffic news is displayed.

This is how digital signage should be used, due to the units not being used in digital outdoor signage, there is no need for any LCD enclosures.
