Digital posters – affordable marketing?
Digital posters are unique in that the content can be configured to run new ads on a daily basis, promoting new products to consumers and never letting the ads become boring or predictable.
This can be achieved by using either of the LCD ad players, such as the standalone unit (USB) or wireless digital posters. The USB digital posters have a slightly smaller memory capacity and depends on the memory card size used, compared to the 160GB hard drive that is built into the wireless digital posters.
Digital Posters Software.
The USB digital poster has generic software built into the media player, this allows the user to call up specific images and videos to display in a certain order, you can select the dwell time, how the images transition into the next image and even how to schedule the unit to power off and back on when the location is open and closed saving costly energy.
The wireless digital poster has software on the hard drive to display the content to promote products. The Linux based hard drive has the capability of much more than the standalone digital poster, however the price different makes it an attractive alternative.
Content updates.
The critical point of dynamic advertising is that fresh content is used to attract consumers to buy your products. A USB digital poster is updated by either inserting a new memory card with fresh content on it, or by using a USB drive and inserting it into the media player and selecting save new files, this then over rights all previous files. So if the ads are to be repeated it would be a good idea to use several memory cards rather than having to over right them every time.
The wireless digital poster is much easier to update and can be set up in a network so multiple LCD ad players are updates simultaneously. As each hard drive has an IP address and therefore can be sent ads relevant to the location of the display.
Durability.
Both digital poster solutions have a protective viewing window that has passed the Industry standard for anti vandal attacks, this is the ability to withstand a 1KG steel ball being dropped from a height of 1 metre and the unit still works with the screen undamaged.
