Digital Poster The New Dynamic Advertising Solution

Digital poster revolution.

A digital poster helps a business to engage with their customers without any hard sell, this is what puts customers off going to hairdressers and beauty salons, as staff has previously tried to sell products they have used on the customer during their treatment.

How many times have you been in the hairdressers and when you go to the pay desk the hairdresser tries to sell the shampoo, conditioning, hair spray or even straightener wax, did this put you off going back, knowing there could be a possible hard sell? Well most people will have experienced a similar scenario, but not any longer.

Using a digital poster just in front of the customer near the mirror the customer can see how their cut is going whilst being entertained watching the digital poster. Now hair salons are asking their suppliers for digital media, so that they can market the products in a very subtle way.

The content is loaded on a memory card, then the content is configured to show the best images possible, this could also include videos.

How a digital poster works

For example the digital poster could have a weather feed so if the weather turned windy an advert may appear for the new “ultra hold” gel so the investment in the cut is not just a 2 minute experience.  This is helping to up-sell various products in a hair salon.

The same can be achieved at a beauty salon, a good example would be whilst someone is having their gel nails redesigned, the digital poster can provide ads for when the design or nails gets chipped, providing tips on repairing them but also promoting in-store products, this type of advertising is very successful and ensures that your customers are informed as well as entertained when they have a treatment, is this something your competitors are doing?

Now far away from the glitz and glamour of beauty and hair salons, digital posters are being used in quick serve restaurants in the UK, one chain in particular are deploying 32” digital posters that display the menu and beverages they offer to customers, so that they can make an informed choice before they get to the counter.

This fish and chip shop chain have found that be promoting the fish of the day they sell an extra 14% increasing profits dramatically as these fish are plentiful and therefore cost less to purchase from the wholesale fish market. By controlling the menu in a digital format allows the franchise owners to customise their menu to some degree. For example if a pie supplier offers them a range of chicken and mushroom pies due to an over make they can add the details in the morning as they take delivery and at lunch time be selling them to the hungry customers.

In the USA the quick serve restaurant industry is seeing a huge change, as all the menus have to include dietary information about each item anyone who does not comply will be fined. The most cost effective way to comply with this law is to use digital menu boards, these are the same as a digital poster and will certainly cost less than printed menus that once printed cannot be edited.
